The Brio Whole House Water Softener System is a salt-based, point-of-entry softener intended for residences and offices with 2 to 3 bathrooms. It uses an ion-exchange process in which a cation resin replaces the calcium and magnesium that cause water hardness with sodium ions, producing softened water throughout the building. Softened water helps protect plumbing and water-using appliances from scale buildup and corrosion, and affects how soaps and detergents perform. The system includes a fiber-reinforced media tank prefilled with resin, a metered control valve head, a brine tank, and an installation kit. An internal automatic bypass allows untreated water to pass through the unit during regeneration so the building is not left without water. The control head lets the installer set water softness, the regeneration schedule, and the number of people in the household; the unit measures water use to determine when regeneration is needed. The system can be connected to standard plumbing types including copper, PEX, and CPVC, and integrates with Brio or non-Brio water treatment systems.
